Yesterday, in the national capital,┬аthe price of petrol was increased by 30 paise┬аfrom Rs┬а86.65┬аper litre to┬аRs 86.95 per litre, and diesel rates rose from┬аRs 76.83 per litre to Rs 77.13 per litre, according to Indian Oil Corporation, the country’s largest fuel retailer. Oil marketing companies ┬а– Indian Oil Corporation,┬аBharat Petroleum, and┬аHindustan Petroleum align the prices of domestic fuel┬аwith the global benchmarks, by taking into account any changes┬аin the foreign exchange rates. Any changes in fuel prices are implemented┬аwith effect from 6 am every day.
Meanwhile, on Friday, February 5, the┬аrupee gained marginally by three paise┬аagainst the US dollar to settle at 72.93 (provisional)┬аafter the Reserve Bank of India kept the policy rate unchanged and┬аmaintained its accommodative stance during its bi-weekly Monetary Policy Committee meeting.┬аBrent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, rose 1.24 per cent to $┬а59.57 per barrel.┬а
