It had been many years since I had travelled into Madhya Pradesh and visiting Kanha with Pugdundee Safaris seemed like the best opportunity to remedy that. We drove down from Delhi, did a night halt in Orchha and next day we were at the Kanha Earth Lodge, right in the lap of mother nature!
They have a total of 12 luxury bungalows with beautiful open verandas that we even slept out in, one fine afternoon. The design is inspired by Gond architecture and much importance is given to sustainability and using as much local material as possible. My favourite part of the bungalows was the shower area. This is what our bedroom looked like ЁЯЩВ
Our very first ever Madhya Pradesh safari with Kanha Earth Lodge turned out to be extremely lucky because we witnessed the tigress Neelam come back for her kill, chase away jackals and vultures that were scavenging on it and then carry the carcass away to feed her cubs further into the forest. Our day was made!
Pugdundee Safaris have ofcourse taken all steps to make their properties as safe as possible for their guests during these covid times. Hand sanitizers placed at strategic points, temperatures of all guests checked randomly and during check-in ofcourse, food at their restaurants is served at the table, all staff wearing their face masks the proper way, etc. I quite loved their dining and recreational area where you can catch up on some reading and they also show nature related documentaries every evening for enthusiasts.
We loved spending our afternoons having chilled beer in the winter sun, clicking butterflies that came to say hello to us and dining outdoors as well.
Kanha Earth Lodge also offers other lovely experiences for their guests like cycling, exploring the local village and my favourites тАУ which were an evening hike up to see the sunset from a brilliant vantage point and the river-side sundowner where we had popcorn and beer and saw the sun set over the river. It was beaituful!
Leaving you with some lovely pics I clicked during our stay there. Hope you enjoy them!
