HCL Technologies Employees To Receive Ten Days' Salary As Special Bonus

HCL Technologies will pay special bonus to employees in February 2021.

The Noida-based information technology firm, HCL Technologies, on Monday announced that its employees across the world, with service of one year or more, will receive special bonus equivalent to ten days’ salary. The company announced special bonus in recognition of its recent milestone, crossing the $10 billion mark in revenue for 2020, HCL Technologies said. (Track HCL Technologies share price here)

“Our employees are our most valuable asset. Despite an unrelenting pandemic, each and every member of our HCL family has demonstrated immense commitment and passion, contributing to the growth of the organization,” Apparao VV, chief human resources officer, HCL Technologies said in a statement.

“The $10 billion revenue milestone is a testament of our remarkable resilience as an organization and the entrepreneurial spirit of our 159,000+ employees. With this gesture, we want to sincerely express our gratitude to our employees and their families for all their support,” Mr Apparao added.

The special bonus will be paid to employees in February 2021, amounting to approximately $90 million plus payroll taxes in some countries, the impact of which is excluded from the FY21 EBIT guidance provided by the company last month, the country’s third largest IT company said.

For the 12 months ended December 31, 2020 HCL Technologies had consolidated revenue of $10.02 billion. HCL Technologies had 159,682 employees spread cross 50 countries.

Following this development, HCL Technologies shares traded 1 per cent higher at Rs 956, in-line with the Sensex which was up over 1 per cent.
