EC failing nation, hesitant to act against PM: Chidambaram
Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram Saturday charged the Election Commission (EC) of “fizzling” the general population of the nation, asserting that it was factional and hesitant to make a move against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for survey code infringement.
Tending to a public interview here, he likewise said that as much as Rs 10 crore is spent on each rally of the leader.
“Unprecedented expenses for the PM’s rallies. About Rs 10 crore is spent on each rally. The EC is failing the people of the country,” Chidambaram asserted.
Maharashtra Congress president Ashok Chavan, who was likewise present at the public interview, requested that the EC test Friday’s occurrence in Dhule where a container was brought out of an airplane shipping Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu.
“The box surely didn’t contain mangoes. It was something more. The EC should take cognisance of the matter and should investigate it,” Chavan said.
